Today I'm proud to release The Banker, part one of the five part miniseries Answered Prayers. I was not long ago asked what Answered Prayers is about. My answer was facile: Fear... Fear's destructive force and what it takes to beat it.
It's a greatly personal project for me. Earlier this year, when I was experiencing my own feeling of success and triumph, I still had those little voices inside my head whispering and trying to entice me into actions based on fear, upset, and anger.
At night, sometimes I'd lull myself to sleep devising greater quantity and greater quantity intricate ways to "get even" or exact revenge on somebody that's wronged me-- come on, we've all done it! You know: these devilish daydreams involving a co-worker, an over-zealous dance mama, your parent or sibling. Have u ever wondered where these little voice in your head come from? The ones that have the force keep us OUT of trouble and so often acquire us INTO trouble? Oh, those voices-- how they dance around inside our heads and whisper lovely nothings in our ear. They encourage and justify our each move, playing on our superlatively good hopes and fears like a harp from hell.
Answered Prayers is my response to these emotions-- these feelings that can bring out the ugliest sides of ourselves. Each of the five films are based on a human archetype:The Banker The Bully The Healer The Lamb The Actor
Intertwined in every of the films is a family feud betwixt 2 , Jinks (Jake Bass) and Malic (Max Carter), ancient beings, every fighting for the hearts and minds of mankind-- HYPOCRISY, manipulation, fear, abhoring, revenge, secrets, luck, and love, all highlight an epic struggle. A war for the Ages!
I hope u have a fun it as much as I did making it!
