Director's Note: Jake Jaxson and R.J. Sebastian here. We have been very open about what A Thing of Beauty means to us -- it is the 1st of what we hope to be many collaborations with every other. In this series of short films, or what we call "erotic poems," we are deliberately connecting ourselves, our struggles, our love, and our raunchy "beings" to our work.

In this film, we begin with "the every day grind." It has caused greater quantity fights, upset, and stress in our 15-year relationship jointly than everything else. When allowed, the monotony of the everyday has become a slow poison and the stress and the every single day grind is sand and water -- it erodes the land and turns mountains into hills.

However, as in nature, water too gives us life and sand becomes glass, one as well as the other helping us to watch and live more good lives. Stress and upset will always exist, but we can just as easily be in a place of peace, abundance, love, and connection.

This became real to us when we were stuck in horrific traffic one morning and were beyond aggravated -- 1st at the traffic, then at every other. As we were taking a back street to our office, we drove along side the gnarly, hellish Long Island Expressway, and in all that rusty, twisted metal, it appeared to be smiling back at us -- even laughing at us! Now, whenever we go to work -- especially on bad days -- we always make sure to drive past the "laughing" bridge. And each time, we smile back.
