When I 1st introduced A Thing of Beauty, I stated, "It's my hope that those short films are a candle in the darksome for anyone who doubts that the love betwixt 2 studs is everything but a thing of beauty."
But as the project progressed and took on a life of it is own, it connected me with the idea of "life" and the things that make it glamorous.
For years, I had compartmentalized many parts of my "life"-- work, family, being homosexual, sex, and the list goes on. Often, I'd discover myself exhausted from just the management and reconciliation of all my states of mind-- being smth or acting some way I thought was expected of me. I lastly realized I was just some other hamster on the hamster wheel of life. SUFFICIENTLY!
Every day, I work hard to free myself from a way of being that caused me to live in an inauthentic state. The 1st thing I do each morning is speak out loud the things I am grateful for. It's a meaty inoculation to the negativity that appears to be to overtake our every day thoughts.
When RJ, Benny and I set out to make A Thing of Beauty, the key ingredient was Gabriel Clark. Having worked with him for the final 3 years has been an inspiration, a fun and a blessing. And in this film, "The Gift", u will watch why.
