The credits for Hungry for Love tell us that director Rolf Hammerschmidt had some assist from the Bel Ami casting department. But all one has to do is take one look at his glamorous, smooth cast to know that. This romantic tale of a juvenile guy who is searching for true love unfolds in a dreamy, erotic fashion that recalls the work of director George Duroy. But credibility is strained when our hunky leading stud is rejected by numerous lads. Things actually receive out of control when this chab lays himself down on some railroad tracks and resolves to end it all. Will the love of a precious stud save our man in distress? We'll not at any time tell, but we will divulge that in a whopping eight scenes (and greater amount than two-hour running time) viewers will watch lots of glamorous guys frolicking in the water and going at it in all combinations in the French countryside. Lovely videography and mouthwatering meat merely add to the pleasure. Almost sufficiently to overlook the annoying editing effects and the disconcerting way the models play to the camera. But all is forgiven when one dude picks up a guitar and earnestly croons the title theme. Sweet.
