The credits for Hungry for Love tell us that director Rolf Hammerschmidt had some aid from the Bel Ami casting department. But all one has to do is take one look at his pretty, smooth cast to know that. This romantic tale of a juvenile chap who is searching for true love unfolds in a dreamy, erotic fashion that recalls the work of director George Duroy. But credibility is strained when our hunky leading chap is rejected by numerous dudes. Things truly receive out of control when this chab lays himself down on some railroad tracks and comes to a conclusion to end it all. Will the love of a worthy guy save our man in distress? We'll not ever tell, but we will divulge that in a whopping eight scenes (and greater quantity than two-hour running time) viewers will watch lots of charming chaps frolicking in the water and going at it in all combinations in the French countryside. Lovely videography and mouthwatering meat solely add to the joy. Almost sufficiently to overlook the annoying editing effects and the disconcerting way the models play to the camera. But all is forgiven when one guy picks up a guitar and earnestly croons the title theme. Sweet.
